The V-Groove its self is approximately 5/16" wide and 5/32" deep. The grooves run along the length of the sheet or panel unless specified otherwise.
The panels or planks that ½" or ⅝" thick come with a shiplap edge to form a seamless joint when installing multiple boards together. The panels that are ¾" or thicker come with tongue and grooved edges. The panels are made 16" wide for those who choose to pin or nail directly to the wall studs. The sheets are made so that the joint butts up right in the middle of the groove to make the joint almost seamless, see illustration.

You may also want to consider our Shiplap or Tongue & Groove V-Groove planks. Plank alternatives are ideal for jobs that may not require full sheets, but still require the lengths of a full size sheet. Single Planks are ideal for long walls or ceilings 50 feet, or even longer. A combination of 8 and 12 foot planks can be installed with the joints staggered randomly, just like hardwood flooring. The joints adds interest and authenticity to the project whether on ceilings or walls.
