Square Hardwood Column

Square Hardwood Column, made from furniture grade, veneered board with either a MDF or Particle Board substrate.

The shaft is shipped in 4 sections unassembled so that they can be used to wrap a jack post, lolly post or an existing support. We provide the 3" crown, 5 1/4” high baseboard, and the 1 ⅛" banding pre-cut to fit, as seen in the illustration. Everything shown is included: The shaft and all the parts that are made from a combination of either veneered or solid hardwood are to be stained after installation.

The shaft on the 8” version is a true 7 ⅝” outside and about 6 ½” square inside. The shaft on the 10” version is a true 9 ⅜” outside and about 8 ⅛” inside. See drawing for the top and bottom footprints.

This column is decorative and not tested for load bearing capacity. For those who require load bearing capabilities, we suggest you add a 4x4 or 6x6 wood post on the inside.

Note: To reduce shipping cost of 9 foot columns, they are shipped in 8 and 1 foot sections to be assembled on site. Columns 8 foot or less are shipped in one section. Ten foot columns can only be shipped via transport.
